Used car finance specialist, ALPHERA Financial Services, and its parent company BMW Group Financial Services, have been recognised for their contribution to the motor finance industry with three category wins at this year’s Car Finance Awards.

ALPHERA took home the top prize in the Best Independent Lender (Non-Bank Owned) and Best Company to Work for in Car Finance categories. BMW Group Financial Services collected the Company Award for Diversity and Inclusion for the fourth time since 2021. All three awards were presented at a ceremony, hosted in Manchester, on Wednesday evening.

As a non-bank owned independent lender, ALPHERA continues to achieve success in the face of challenging operating conditions. Prioritising its customer-first mentality, as well as it’s strongly held relationships with its dealer and broker partners, ALPHERA was commended for its range of dedicated initiatives that offer support and guidance.

For drivers, these developments include the launch of its Consumer Duty+ Code of Excellence. Unveiled at the end of July 2024, to coincide with the first anniversary of the FCA’s Consumer Duty standard, ALPHERA identified an opportunity to provide its partners and customers with a greater level of understanding around the duty’s implementation.

ALPHERA has also doubled down on its provision for its Partners. A new compliance strategy has been instrumental in providing greater support for businesses operating in a highly scrutinised, highly regulated industry.

A highly regarded employer, ALPHERA continues to shine in employment accreditation schemes. The business was again honoured this year as a Top Employer in the UK. In a Workday Peakon survey of staff members, ALPHERA achieved a staff engagement score of 8.5 out of 10. The rating, which indicates strong commitment and enthusiasm by staff towards their work, is amongst the best in the industry.

With a track record for incrementally developing its programme, BMW Group Financial Services’ Award for Diversity and Inclusion is the latest in a growing list of accolades. These include the renewal of BMW Group Financial Services’ Disability Confident accreditation and silver TIDE award, as well as special recognition for Sarah Westmoreland, HR Specialist for DE&I, as one of the Autocar Drivers of Change 2025.

Last year, BMW Group Financial Services launched ‘Connect Club’ to bring together people with shared situations and experiences. It created three initial groups – Working Parents, Retiring Soon and Culture & Ethnicity. Two more, Bereavement and Caring for Relatives, are set to launch later this year.

Alex Royall, Director of ALPHERA Financial Services, said: “Everyone at ALPHERA is committed to supporting our customers, partners and their colleagues. To come away from the Car Finance Awards with three trophies only serves to reinforce this pledge. In a highly competitive landscape, ALPHERA’s dealer and broker partners can rest assured that we are offering the backing they need, while motorists benefit from proactive lending practices.”

Mike Dennett, CEO of BMW Group Financial Services, said: “These awards are deserved recognition for the time and effort our teams invest into the business. Our focus remains firmly set on continuous improvement to offer the very best vehicle finance packages to our customers and partners.”
